this week we have a very special residents mix put together by sam to celebrate our new venture that you may have heard rumblings about. we are extremely happy to officially announce the launch of our new label amazing sounds.

we begin our journey into the physical world with a very special release – a remix package of our heroes harmonia & brian eno. it contains two reworkings by the ever excellent shackleton and appleblim & komonazmuk of tracks from the album ‘track & traces‘- a phenominal piece of work which recently resurfaced on groenland records.

we gave the dubstep icons their pick of songs from the record and the tracks the guys have come up with are both epic affairs that ease the retro futurism of harmonia & eno’s compositions onto a tripped out 21st century dancefloor.

the sumptuous package, harmonia & eno ’76 remixes, will be released on limited edition white vinyl and digital download on monday the 2nd november, with artwork by our partner in the label – famed illustrator / designer james joyce (www.one-fine-day.co.uk) and will be distributed through kompakt into the worlds best record stores. visit the label website (www.amazingsounds.org) to keep abrest of what amazing sounds has in store including future releases / remixes from american electronic whizz kid dan deacon, glaswegian wonky hip hop master hudson mohawke and norfolk synth boffin luke abbott amongst others.

but whilst you wait for the release date (that’s the 2nd November) you can sample the shackleton remix of ‘sometimes in autumn’ which is streaming over at the brilliant rcrdlbl site here and you can get a sneak preview of appleblim & komonazmuk’s take on ‘by the riverside’ by listening to this weeks mix.

that’s not the only special treat in this mix though. the last track is by a new combo going by the name of walls, which is a collaboration between banjo or freakout‘s alessio and none other than our own sam willis – busy boys. you can check out more of their work and befriend them over at their myspace: www.myspace.com/wallsjams

absolute body control – melting away
suicide – dance
john maus – my whole world is falling apart
harmonia & eno ’76 – by the riverside (appleblim & komonazmuk remix)
mount kimbie – serged
martini bros. – dance like it is ok (dj koze & the tease remix)
walls – burnt sienna

this week we’ve got a corker of a mix from our good friend scott edwards, more commonly known as avus. scott has clocked up an enviable amount of release of some of the most highly regarded labels around including klang, perc trax and border community as well as knocking out remixes for jesse somfay, james holden and recent AA contributor one little plane.

his bouncy, leftfield take on acid techno has been a staple in allez-allez sets and he found room for a couple of his own works in this brilliant mix which, as the title suggests, contains more jack than the shining. if this tickles you go and investigate furthur here. you really should.

fingers inc – washing machine
adonis – no way back
avus – dream of jaxx
jackmaster hater – acid dreams(ron hardy edit)
armando – world unknown
armando – don’t take it

robin wants revenge – well frankly my son
armando – 100% of disin you
james ‘jack rabbit’ martin – rabbit trax
phuture – acid tracks
dj pierre – box energy
avus – shelltoes
jack frost – clap me
