this weeks selection comes from folk/electronica artist one little plane aka kathryn bint. the chicago native landed in london in 2003 where she began to record her songs in her flat alongside producer kieran hebden. featuring diverse intruments such as melodica, vibraphone, thumb piano and guitars both electric and acoustic the results were the lovely collection ‘until’ which surfaced on text records last year.
the mix she has compiled for us celebrates not only that release but also the new remix 12inch available in shops this week featuring interpretations of album cut ‘lotus flower’ by hot chip’s joe goddard and our good friend avus (both of which feature on this weeks download). its available from all good stockists and is well worth your hard earned. get it quick though as there are only 500 available worldwide.

after a year and half of wandering the city and beyond as djing minstrels we are extremely happy to announce we are starting a new residency from next month in the wonderful cargo. under the umbrella of the kaleidoscope caravan club every 2nd saturday will see allez-allez take over the venue for our own night. the fun kicks off on the 10th october will a stellar line-up including a nathan fake live set, a dj set from the ever wonderful appleblim and off course our good selves.
we are thrilled to be back running a monthly party and have many treats in store for future events. to make things even more exciting cargo are continuing their recession busting ways by introducing a honesty box policy for saturday night – they are leaving up to you to decide how much to pay to enter the club.
so stick saturday the 10th october in your diary and starting thinking how much you’d like to pay for nathan fake, appleblim and allez-allez!
finally, on saturday 26th september steve is taking to the waves (does the thames have waves?) to play for a boat party put on by dublin’s m n to that crew.
the golden star boat leaves from temple pier at 7:45 sharp and party along till midnight. you can get tickets here but be quick as they’re going fast. full details are here.
